Welcome to Gingercyde

Hello folks,

I am starting this blog to hopefully provoke a little ego free discussion / thought process. I originally had this idea to be the dark and mysterious blogger injecting free thought and questioning of society into the mix. Hopefully this will be a successful experiment in open forum free thought and see where it goes. I have no predictions for what will happen, but I hope this is an avenue of free form devil's advocate and the occasional humor relief. Please bear with me as I try to get a grip on this experiment and feel free to contribute any thoughts...after all, that is my goal. I plan on having some guests throwing topics and discussion on here so there is a wider spectrum of collective thinking taking place.

Thanks,
Gingercyde

  1. I think if humans do somehow inhabit something in the universe other than Earth it will not be diverse at first. The few that would begin a community outside of earth would either be the wealthiest of the wealthiest(if the reason for leaving earth was due to war/pandemic/world crisis...) or the most highly educated and advanced in astronomy, aeronautics, medical,...(if the reason for leaving earth was in the name of science for long term experimenting). In either case there would be specific people sharing a major circumstance united as one in the begining. Even if this group was diverse in sex, race,or religion it would be the same in the most deviding trait of modern times "status". This all being said the question I am attempting to answer is whether humans could drop their egos, set aside their differences, and inhabit other places peacefully. Since the first inhabitants would be so similar I think it would work at first, as there would not be many prejudices. However, as time went on the people would encounter natural human instincts: greed, selfishness, and hatred. As time went on and the colony grew it would begin to separate. As it separated there would begin a hierarchy of some sort between the groups. One would obtain a needed resourse in mass or become stronger in some way and rule over the others. As things went on you would see humans separate more and more and one day someone would reaize that they fucked up from the very begining. They would reaize that through hate, greed, and selfishness they managed to use their new habitat as a place for war and destruction. Every resource stripped, every group of people at war, every inch poluted. Then one day someone might start a blog or discussion board and pose the question "Do you think humans could have learned their lesson after they fucked up earth, and do you think if we set aside our differences and put down our egos that we could make it work somewhere else?" NO!
